Hi can anyone tell me where the amp is located in the coupe for the rear speakers please? Mine have stopped working and I it looks like the amp that powers the rear speakers is the reason.

Thanks :)

The amp in the coupe is behind the offside rear interior quarter.
Behind the first aid pocket.

The rear speakers MAY be powered from the head unit though - not sure.
I thought it was the front speakers powered from the HU. The fronts are working fine it's the back that has no sound.

Getting a new ICE pack fitted later this week, Is it possibel to by pass the rear amp and power the lot form the HU?

Thanks steviedtt.

In terms of a musical set up, I'd be really surprised if Bose or Audi decided to amp the rears and not the front.
It's the absolute wrong thing to do if they're interested in replicating the music as recorded.
You sit in the front right? ;)

You may as well just rip the backseats out and fill that space and the boot with speakers

OK I'm a bit confused now (in know it don't take much). If my speakers in the front are working and the speakers in the back are not, is there any other possible reason why this would be the case. I.e i know on some HU it is possibel to shut down the rear and or front speakersa as required, is this soemthing that can be done on the audi concert hu?

My rear speakers never worked.

I just assumed that was normal them not working small space and all, but why then put speakers in the rear of a TT if they would never work?

I have power but no sound from my 02 TT Coupe Bose system and I'm thinking it is the amp. It started happening sporadically where the sound would just cut out in the middle of a song, then come back on an hour or 2 or even a day later. Then the sound quit completely. I searched for the amp behind the driver's side panel and found a plastic box with a ton of wires and plugs but it didn't seem like an amp. It was plastic and made in Germany and had the Audi symbol on it. I would assume the Bose Amp would say Bose on it. I did not completely take the passenger side panel off, but could not see the amp there. I will look harder. If the problem is in fact my amp, can I replaced it with an after-market amp or does it have to be Bose? Also, if I go after-market with the amp, do I have to replace the radio/cd player as well? thanks
