Thanks. Now down to €169 (£142) on the site.SportShifters.com wrote:GaryG wrote:Scare me with the price...
The price is € 249 incl. Worldwide shipping.
The problem, as I see it, is one of marketing.
Gear knobs are available from around £4 (€5) to £20 (€25) - I seem to remember that you can get illuminated ones relatively cheaply.
Gaiters are about £10 (€12).
This leaves the "added value" of the surround and shortening at around £110 (€135)
The surround is the big thing - that version you have on site of the circle with the hex-bolts says "Audi" - I'm not sure that the others do nor am I sure how well the colours, other than black, coordinate.
The shortening seems to be of marginal value but is by far the most costly item.
If I were you, I'd follow ReTTroFit's tasteful idea and buy in cheap and cheerful* knobs, gaiters and surrounds and (if you feel it worthwhile) offer a stick shortening service/exchange shorter shift for a fee. You don't need anything special if the gaiter comes up to the knob.
I will not be investing.

* There's no reason, even at low prices, why the knobs, etc., can't be well-made.
