got my turbo changed on my 2004 180 TT i was checking underneath i noticed the turbo vacuum pipe had been by passed see photos wht would this mean i why would it have been done
The power steering cooling pipe has been bypassed probably because it's leaking. Need to get it replaced.
In the past i have used copper radiator pipe to make a new piece. It's on the low pressure side so good jubilee clips will do it.
Probably expensive to buy new.
that hack bypass does look new - who did it?, I am pretty sure the PS shouldn't have a smaller volume than designed especially on the cooler pipe.
Just so you know the Turbo will only have a TIP, downpipe, oil in from oil filter housing, coolant in, oil gravity drain to sump, coolant return to block and some have an EGT probe
I would fit a small oil cooler instead of replacing the metal pipe, it'll most prob cost less as well.
