Hi I'm looking at changing the diverter valve on my 1.8t 225, and I've seen two options from forge. One being the forge 007 splitter valve the other being the the forge 008. Can anyone please explain the difference and which is better? [smiley=book2.gif] Thank you.

Hi Matt, Forget about the splitter, waste of money & you won't get to work correctly on the 1.8T engine.
The Forge 008 is O.K. it may look better but it won't an improvement over the OEM diverter valve & costs 3 x the price.
The 1.8T engine requires a divert/recycle valve not a dump/blowoff valve.
I will move your post into the Mk1 section.
Hoggy. :D

The 007 and the Splitter are different valves, the 008 was the replacement for the 007 so go for the 008

It's interesting that people now regard the OEM DV as being the best option. Back in 200-2002 the Forge and Bailey DVs were the in thing to have but I did some testing and found that the aftermarket valves all reacted much slower than the little plastic Bosch valves. I replaced my Bailey with a stock DV and the on-off throttle response was smother. At the time it was good enough for Porsche to use on the 911 turbo.

I feel like Uncle Albert . . . durin' the wawwr . . :D
