Hi all
I've take off both door card and both window motors are stone cold and replaced a new thermal fuse as well but still have the same draw ![]() |
|
Does the draw remain with the motor controllers unplugged?
If so, wiring, especially on the door hinge line, is the next suspect. Mac. |

Hi mac yeah if you unplug both widow motors I still have the drain

Try taking the fuse out, then setting the multimeter to ohms, measure between the output side of the fuse to car chassis, ie bolt head etc. Should be open circuit. Anything less is, possibly, the drain. If in doubt about which end of the fuse is the output, set meter to volts dc, and with negative lead to an earth, the live (battery) end will show 12 - 14, volts. You want the other end, which with the fuse out, should be zero volts, check that it is, as the problem could be a short between the controller supply and something else in the same loom.
Edit: It's a red/green wire from the breaker panel to the window motor controllers. Can't see where the split to two wires (left and right) is, maybe there are two wires from the breaker (left and right)? If so, try dissconnecting one then the other, while checking drain. This might tell you which side to look at first ... Mac. |
