Hi David, Welcome to the TTF.
I will move your post into the MK1 section, you should get more replies. Hoggy. ![]() ![]() **Too many lookers & not enough doers.** ![]() |

This is an unrestored low milage rim, hope it helps.

So is that the lip and the bevel that are cut.??. (note the rears have a bigger bevel..). Later RS wheels only appear to have the lip diamond cut..??

Hi, Just the rim/lip. Hoggy. ![]() ![]() **Too many lookers & not enough doers.** ![]() |

I found this photo which looks to be more than just the lip and seems to be what I have on original rims..??
|
|
This one also shows that more than just the lip is cut.?

DC240S is the man to talk to as he's a stickler for originality.
Check out his thread, his QS is awesome.....https://www.ttforum.co.uk/forum/viewtop ... 2&t=959610 Avus Silver QS #0522

looks like the machinist has also taken off some more to produce a step, hence these can't be original and have been restored & machined at least once. R 2004 3.2 V6 DSG + Porsche 924S 2.7 Race car

They originals all have a step.. The step/bevel being bigger on the rear due to the stagger front/rear. The only thing being car photos don't have enough resolution to really show the extent of the diamond cut. In the absence of a definitive answer I guess I'll go with my original look i.e.

Here's an image of my NOS rear rim:
![]() ![]() And a set of new rims I purchased from Audi: ![]() ![]() The diamond cut extends up to the beginning of the rolled/painted face between the spoke. Make sure the company refurbishing are fully aware of the thicker/extended lip on the rears and don't machine this off so they all look the same - its a distinguishing feature you want to keep! Also the rims are not manufactured by Ronal but STN in Poland - also an OEM for Porsche. DC |

Thanks DC, Exactly what I needed..
