Nice. Prices of campers are going through the roof atm, sort of like house residuals but houses with wheels on
![]() I was pricing up Oceans the other day and concluded that the pricing was ott for a day out and a bacon sarnie in the back or possibly a bacon sarnie and an occasional sleepover. I reckon the secret is to keep it cheap and that's where the most fun is to be had ![]() |

Thanks for kind replies, as with TT's an old VW is much easier on the pocket if you can do all maintenance yourself.
Lucky if i get 20mpg around town, but i don't care as i like driving it! Bus does'nt owe me a penny, paid a guy £200 13 years ago to drag it off his driveway. It was full of newspapers and cans but very solid. Had it running the next day. Still 90% original paint. I had at the time a 1982 Aircooled T25 which i split for parts and sold what i didn't need. The day i taxed this one i was £20 up! Upgrades so far include... Rear disc brake conversion, weber carb conversion, stainless exhaust with stainless can off a 1998 Honda Fireblade CB900RR, Saab seats with swivel on passenger side. VW Corrado door mirrors. Camper conversion in the back. lowered on H&R springs with Bilstein B4 shocks, Polybushed steering rack and front gearbox mounts. Replaced the clutch a few years ago and replaced coolant pipes to later plastic ones. Other than that its basic annual maintenance. Rust wise it has needed both front steps replacing, O/S outer sill and a couple of plates inside rear wheel arches, and that is it! Keep it clean and use almost every day, which i believe is beneficial for old vehicles. There are too many put away over the winter sweating under a cover. Use it and Enjoy it. Same as my wife in her TT, she loves it! I quite like it too!! 2002 audi tt 180 Quattro
