Tried to turn on the aircon yesterday and the light stays lit for a second and goes out.

Tried again later (car been sat for a few hours), can hear it all start to work, compressor etc, but then light goes out.
After that nothing and the light goes back to staying lit for a second.

This morning, car sat overnight you can hear it start up and fail again, then nothing?

Does the car know its got low gas? A sensor fault?

Any Ideas?

Yes the TT knows if the gas level is low, it has a sensor. AFAIK the manual describes how it will behave when gas level is low.

Had mine topped up the other day now that it's 5 1/2 years old. It was about time.

Worst case scenario, the aircon radiator in the front got damaged and is leaking now...

Checked over pipe work, joints, seals etc for signs of leaks and all looks ok.

Fingers crossed it is low level.... Not regassed it since we got it, 4 yr old now.

Hello,

Sorry to drag up an older topic but did you ever get to the bottom of this?

My 2009 MK2 TTS is doing the same thing, press the AC button and it flashes on for a second then goes straight off.

Thanks.
