Just bought a 2004 TT roadster....love it! However, my new baby kept me up most of the night as alarm keep going off. Went to Swindon Audi and they are going to fit a new siren, but in the interim they have disabled the alarm.....now I have no horn! Coincidence or has the disablement of the alarm disabled the horn? No Viagra jokes please boys!

Hi Caroline, Welcome to the TTF.
Yes will prevent the "noise" but Alarm siren/horn is not very loud anyway, unlikely to wake the neigbours so don't worry about it.
Hoggy. :D

Hi Caroline, 2nd thoughts if you mean the horn rather than alarm siren, no it shouldn't affect that.
They only had to disconnect the siren in the boot panel to prevent alarm going off.,

Mysteriously the horn worked yesterday but it was a rather pathetic effort, not a good meaty sound! Not sure what a TT horn should sound like! She is booked in on Aug 28 for new siren! Loving being a TT owner!

Hi Caroline,
There's two horns on the TT, so it sounds (sorry) like one has failed. The high pitch is on the right hand side behind the removable plastic grille just next to where the towing eye screws on. I would think the low pitch is in the same place on the other side but haven't changed that one yet. Let me know if Swindon Audi have improved now they've moved home!

The horn replacement is definitely a DIY job, bit fiddly at first but only one (10mm I think) nut under/behind the plastic flap by the tow-point socket.
