My son has recently bought a brand new 2.0 tdi stronic black edition
We were surprised to see the analogue speedo reads 5mph lower than the digital at all speeds
We checked with GPS and the analogue is UNDER by 5 mph . The digital is spot on. It took us three weeks to find this one i just thought the car seemed to go faster than it was. Thankfully no speeding tickets. The car has gone in for checking today and the dealer has confirmed there is a problem with the analogue gauge. He has NEVER known a speedo under read until now.
A new instrument cluster is on order (ten days) and the dealer at Wolverhampton has been great!
Purpose of this is to WARN others you may have a problem though rare. Run out and check before the speeding fines come in

I believe that speedo's over read to prevent the manufacturers being sued in court for any motoring offences which may have been committed due to the incorrect speed indication.

Trust me guys this one reads UNDER hence Audi's wish to fix it asap. We could so easily have picked up a speeding ticket.
I write just to tell anyone with a new TT to check their speedo as there may be a faulty batch that reads UNDER apparently the gear on the rear of the dial is slightly twisted and not aligned correctly with the numbers on the face
Hence the speedo was a consistent 5mph too low at all speeds.
A new dial will arrive in ten days and the dealer will fit under warranty
