You might be able to reverse drill the threaded part out and replace just the antenna but would probably be worth just getting an upgrade stubby kit and sorting that bodywork while it's out.

well if that goes directly into the amplifier i would avoid drilling anything. Just take the whole assembly out and go from there i guess.

EDIT looking at pics on ebay and such it looks like part of the base unit is snapped off and stuck on your antenna threads. unfortunately that will mean a whole new unit i think which is the amp aswell. £115 new but breakers should have them much cheaper.

Well I'm always up for a bodge lol. You could get a suitable threaded insert. Solder it to the metal inner part of the base. Then pour epoxy to fill the void surrounding it. Don't do that though.
