Hi guys new owner here I've attempted to update the car software today with the firmware files in the forums, the update failed in certain stages and now my Vc screen is just displaying a orange efu screen, and I can't get rid of it, any help please

No this is MMI issue..you have to recover your MMI.
Is your car working? Engine start correctly?

Yes 32gb sd fat32, tried the update twice with no joy can't leave the emergency flash utility screen

You have to reinstall your backup if you have it.. you can do it with d link and putty if already working or from the rear side of the MMI from the quadlock connector with TTL 232 adapter ..
In my opinion better to contact a specialist if you are not skilled , not attempt to do nothing because there is the serious risk to brick definitely the MMI.

Known good MIB firmware is on my Google drive here.
I'd start with that in case the version you downloaded is corrupt in some way.
Also I'd start with a new branded 32GB SD card from a reputable supplier, just in case.
Hopefully the MIB will recover itself as implied from the screen text.

If not, emergency MIB recovery procedure is here.
Never had to use it myself, so good luck!?

For MIB, yes.
Not for VC if it’s the letterless part number.
