Anybody know roughly how frequently Audi update the firmware for the RNS-E (Nav +) units? TIA.

Its on the nav disks. if you have a 2008 you should have the latest.
You can get the version from setup menu.

latest version is 0650, but there isn't a great deal of difference in functionality from previous versions. If you've got a spare half-hour to kill you can read all about it on the nav-plus forum:
