Hi all,

I decided to see if there were any stored codes on the car. Plugged in the software and 6 codes came up. I cleared them, went for a drive and one came back:-

17746 - Camshaft Position Sensor (G40): Open or Short to Plus
P1338 - 35-00 - -

Now the Timing chain, tensioner and water pump were all done 2 years ago at 80,000 miles.. (Currently at 90,000 miles)

Any thoughts on how I can repair this issue?

Car runs fine, although it is new to me so I don't know any different.

I decided to get familiar as to where the cam sensor is for future replacement.

AS i said before the belt/pump/tensioner was all changed about 2 years ago.
Guess what I discovered today:-

Cam sensor wasn't even connected !!

So you had been driving with it out for some time or did the code just come up
Seems strange the wire clip should hold the plug in tight :?
Oh well all well that ends well :p
i bought the car last week, so I assume it has been off since the last time the timing was changed (2 years ago)
Unsure what implications it has on the car if not connected.
