Can anyone tell me the easiest and most effective way to check that the DV valve is working correctly please...

Take it off, push a pen into the bottom hole (push the diaphragm up) then stick your thumb over the small vacuum hole on the top. If the diaphragm drops back closed when you remove the pen, its broken. If it stays up, its ok. Some slight movement is acceptable :wink:
