Went into National Tyres in Warrington with a slow puncture in a new tyre. The tyre had been going down for over two months.

They called me over to show me a brand new screw stuck in the tyre near the edge saying that they would have to fit a new tyre. I declined the offer.

I then went to a smaller specialist tyre fitter and he said here is the original leak, pointing to an old rusty nail in a repairable area.

And here is the screw that National tyres have put in.

Still had to buy a new tyre.

Impossible to prove one way or the other

But to be certain you need to watch the tyre check

A similar thing with an Audi dealership, every time the car went in for a service, mot or anything they always found that one tyre had an unrepairable puncture. One day I got fed up with it and when booking in when they said "is there anything else we can help you with?"
I said, "yeah, I don't expect you to "find" a puncture"
Guess what..... That day, no puncture, and no puncture ever since.

As you say impossible to prove but annoying

I've heard of this before and most people would just buckle under and get a new tyre. Obviously now it's a new tyre. A new screw, they have no shame.

I cant stand the 2 of the guys who work in the Middlesbrough branch, one quoted me £550 for a BMW cat-back a while ago, then 310 for a price match and demanded i pay in full before he'd even ordered it incase i didn't turn up to have it fitted.......prick...i went elsewhere!
