Hi everyone.

I've just bought an '07 mk2 TT and am excited to take delivery on Wednesday

I know that there are normally rules on forums to search for answers before posting questions but I thought this might be a little easier.

Firstly, as you can see by the pictures the car is pretty sweet, however the only thing it doesn't have that I might have liked is the SatNav and Bluetooth prep so my question is, can these things be added later or are there any good after market connectors (more for the bluetooth to be honest).

oh and I have the s-tronic, what does the sport mode actually do?

oh and one last thing.......is that rear valance thing standard because I've not seen it on any others

Hi and welcome to the TTF

RNSE can be retrofitted quite easily - cost is the general barrier to this

BT again I would say yes, although not sure about how easy

Sport mode keeps the car in the lowest gear and only changes on the red line

valance looks like an aftermarket one - hard to tell from the pics, have a look on the TTshop website you may see it there

Hi, and welcome. I have had my TT since oct 09, black just like yours, still enjoying the thrill of driving it, you will too! As regards the rear valance it is NOT standard, I have the same valance but mine came as a full factory fitted body kit, which makes a difference to the look of the car. As mine is manual I am afraid I cannot help with the other question. There is many posts on the subject of retro sat navs being fitted etc.

Mike, side skirts and a front valance. There is a picture in the TT MK2 photos of the day thread.

my was already fitted when I bought the car.

Just saw your car on pic of the day. The kit does make a huge difference, it's nice! I must admit even just the rear valance on mine makes it look loads different and stand out.

Hi Mike, quite a few of us have fitted after market head units, either kenwood or pioneer,
as for the sports box, i see your question as been answered ,but you can always just pop it into sports mode, accelerate and enjoy

In terms of Sat-Nav and Bluetooth - loads of decent after market options - price will be the decider in what you go for...

Satnav OEM is easy enough to do, "plug and play"
You may need to you VAGCOM to alter some setting depending on what the unit you are fitting is coded to.

BT - no so easy. you could do a search for FISCOM.

I'm not a fan of aftermarket units but given you dont have BT i'd consider it. it will be a lot of effort to fit and code the OEM stuff. You could get a one of the specialist to do it for you though.

Also check the alloys, im not sure they are OEM. OEMs will have 255tyres on.
Better to be fully aware.

sport mode will make the kick down or, down shifting, happen much more readily when you suddenly decide to accelerate. And will cause the car to down shift earlier when you are slowing down. It will generally cause the engine to rev much more than on the D mode. You can always override with the paddles, the car will return to the D or S after a short while or after a long press on the + paddle.
