Hi guys,

got tyres changed today on my TTS and when the garage guy and I took the parcel shelf out to put the old tyres in the back the small front parcel shelf fell off. Looks like someone got a hot glue gun to it in the past as the one still attached is hanging off.

Does anyone know how these plastic mounts were originally supposed to attach to the car?

Everyone has had this snap and glued, so your not alone.

After I glued mine, which lasted about two or three removals of the shelf I used 2 or 3 small self tapping screws and now it's stronger than it was out of the factory.

Pilot hole the bracket first.

I had no idea it was such a common issue on these cars!

Thanks for the tip! I’ll do as you suggest and try and screw it in

Had the same problem when I bought my TT. Ended up buying new brackets and fitting them. Poor design really and a bit of a pain to fit.

@ Webbo12 - If you need a Workshop Manual for the interior which describes how to remove/replace them, you can find it here.
