I take it you didn't go private then :lol:

Had the exact same operation about 15 years ago, but no incision or scar as they went in through the naval. Was not even kept in overnight, went in at 9am & was home by 3. Was told to take it easy for 2 weeks so returned to work the day after the operation

No, didn't go private as I have a relative who is a surgeon and was able to pull a few strings - only had to wait 3 weeks after initial consultation. My hernia was right in the naval - that's why they couldn't go in that way and do laporascopic surgery. Hence the smiley face scar I will have! :roll:
