Hi Folks,
I'm really hoping that someone knows about this problem or even had same issue with your own roof? The picture below is of my 2008 TTS roadster's roof. The roof was replaced by my local Audi dealership under warranty as the rear heated window wasn't working correctly. Now that's sorted I have notice a problem with the new roof.
Once the roof has been down and put back up again an indentation is visible on the outside of the roof. (Only on the driver's side) It seems to be level with the joint of the roof.

The dealership (derby Audi) have sent a report to Audi UK who forwarded it to the factory, it came back saying "they are not aware of any known problems with the TT roof.

Can anyone help or even know of a contact name and number for someone at Audi UK I could speak to.

Is there a faulty batch of roofs out there or is it a fitting issue?

Many thanks
Matt

If you want to go to Audi, contact Customer Services - not that they are any good (as you have already discovered).

You need to persue this through the dealer that fitted it. It sounds like they are working on your behalf already.

Hi,
Looks like a fitting issue, or a deformation that happened while transporting the part. However, this is only speculation.
Logically, if Audi say that they are not aware of such a known problem, the photo is proof that they need to do something about it anyway.
Hope it gets sorted out.

Hi Mate,
I have spoken to the service manager at stafford Audi - Steve who was very helpful. He explained that the Audi mechanics dont get specialised trianing in fitting hoods. He sub-contracted an A3 cab to a company called Aldridge Trimming. He said they did a outstanding job. I spoke to a guy at Aldridge Trimming and forwarded him some pictures of the roof. He stated had not seen any issues like mine.

I would be really interested in how you get on with your new roof, have you got it booked in soon? likewise I'll drop you a message. You'll have to let me know if its the same side too.

Do you find that your "mark" disapears with time?

cheers matt

I've got a TTR (roof not replaced!) and I definitely don't have any such bump...

Doesn't look right to me.

Matt-tts,

I had a roof replaced for a duff rear window 2 years ago and no marks or bumps like that. Definitely not right so keep on to the warranty chap. [smiley=argue.gif]
