If your Roadster or Coupe came with the factory phone kit installed in the center console tray, it's a very simple DIY to remove it and replace with a standard tray insert. Even with the cable disconnected and/or removed, no code changes are required.

Roadster owners, read on. Coupe owners, follow this link -

Just be aware the parts you'll need are different for Roadster and Coupe, You can look them up in 7zap; items 25 & 27 -

The two parts specific to the Roadster are:
1.) 8J7863416 Cover
2.) 8J0863274 Rubber Insert

If you're looking for a wireless charger which can be incorporated into the tray, this DIY project from Rettro fit is pretty cool option!

I bought both the cover and insert directly from Audi. The cover was only €9.95 and the rubber mat was €6.50. I've seen these sold as a pair on eBay for upwards of €40.00 so Audi was actually the cheaper alternative!

Since space is pretty tight in the Roadster, I found it easier to get to everything by sliding the passenger's seat all the way forward. Just follow the pictures. Shouldn't take more than 30-minutes.
