If your Roadster or Coupe came with the factory phone kit installed in the center console tray, it's a very simple DIY to remove it and replace with a standard tray insert. Even with the cable disconnected and/or removed, no code changes are required.

I bought both the cover and insert directly from Audi. The cover was only €9.95 and the rubber mat was €6.50. I've seen these sold as a pair on eBay for upwards of €40.00 so Audi was actually the cheaper alternative!
Since space is pretty tight in the Roadster, I found it easier to get to everything by sliding the passenger's seat all the way forward. Just follow the pictures. Shouldn't take more than 30-minutes.
