Hi,
I've read everything I can on water ingress into the boot (MKII Roadster 2008). The spoiler seal seems dry. Drainage through boot lid fine. Battery vent grommet fine. Pull-up carpet tray always bone dry. I'm going to check drip trays (got to manually lower soft top, still bust) and while I'm at it, do plenum etc. Also considering automotive sealant on the boot floor, as another owner has.
However, there's a couple of small 'holes' in the boot floor metal (should they be plugged?) in this photo where I can see water under the 'skin' of the boot to about 1cm deep. I'm thinking rainwater is collecting in there (from where?) then sloshing up into the battery area, not down from boot lid or in from drip trays.
Then a warm day (we've had a heatwave), the pool causes condensation on the battery (?) at its worst in second photo. I kinda know that could be the case since I've checked the boot before and after torrential rain, and the top of battery was totally dry.
Also regarding the drip trays – if the water overflows there and gets into the boot, would it not come in at typically the same point for all TTs/Roadsters it being a common design fault? I can't find any reference as to where to check, except using talc etc. The metal floor looks sound and dry towards the cockpit – unless it's drying out before I see it.
Cheers for help,
Charlie
