You can find wiring diagrams along with a number of Workshop Manuals in the Knowledge Base. Workshop Manual Communications - RG 91 - D3E8006B7D9 (2009) provides the quad-lock wiring diagrams and pin-out.

From the photo and his description, it looks like someone cut off the OEM Quadlock connectors and tossed them in the bin. So I am assuming he's trying to rebuild the connector(s) back to OEM spec with the proper connections.

Just looking back through our documentation, would it be safe to assume JP4 and JP5 refers to Japan...?
Note the comment, "The navigation system JP5 comprises an “aftermarket” radio/navigation system."

"Aftermarket" sounds like Audi's way of saying Clarion.

@ philipdowdle - Can you look at your VIN sticker and see if any of these PR codes are present. The codes are in the first colum.

Just out of curiosity, I ran a search for the Japanese PR codes related to the stereo and navigation options which are listed below. I'll try to track down a Japanese Audi workshop Manual and wiring diagram for the Mk2 that might be able to help since this topic does come up from time to time.

If we know which PR codes is assigned to your vehicle, we should be able to determine which kit was installed at the factory and work backwards from there.

Yeah, sorry I can't do much more. Trying to surf the Japanese internet for an Japanese Audi club or Forum is a real hassle, even with the translate feature.

From what I can tell, It looks like the original Audi head unit is pretty close to the Clarion NX808. Now the challenge is trying to find a legible wiring diagram. The one above was the best I could find, but will still require translation.

Any chance you can make a wiring diagram with what you have before you put it all way?

It would be good to know which Blocks (B) and Pins (P) are used and what their colors are where the originate.

For example B2 has a twisted pair of B2,P1 Red/Yellow and P2 Red/Purple. These goes to B5,P3 Green and B5/P4 Green.

I just made these up for the sake of the illustration, but if you can make the necessary corrections, we should have a pretty decent wiring diagram!
