Didn't see a wiring diagram for the G40 camshaft position sensor for a TDI TT but the wiring color code 'might' be the same as a 2.0l TDI Passat?

If so it looks like
Pin 1 = yellow w/ green stripe
Pin 2 = green w/ violet stripe
Pin 3 = brown w/ green stripe

If you have something different, please list the wire colors you do have and maybe they'll match one of Audi's other 2.0l motors?

Yeah, I'm not seeing anything close to the OP's wiring color (colors are close for a front leveling sensor but not a CPS ?)
Maybe a picture of the sensor location and damaged wiring harness would help?

 

God sake. Did my tests & outcome is:

Pin1 Yellow / Red +5V / top
Pin2 Yellow / Brown Ground (-)
Pin3 Yellow / Black Signal / bottom

Wiring for CBBB engine. 💪💪💪

hey guys. I've got a similar problem for the same Engine CBBB, but on a VW Passat, on the Crankshaft sensor, not the camshaft. Can anyone help me please with the wires? I've got:

• Yellow/Red
• Yellow/Purple
• Yellow/Blue

Note: The Yellow becomes more of a brown toward the plug, probably it changed the color over the time. So not sure if the original color was Brown or Yellow.
Any help would be very appreciated.

 

Found the diagram (G28 is the Crankshaft sensor). I'm leaving it here in case anyone needs it in the future:

Pin1: Yellow/Blue
Pin2: Yellow/Purple
Pin3: Brown/Red
