For more space, I'm selling my 2001 225 AMU. Clean title, 6-speed quattro car, garage kept. I only drink water inside the car, no eating and smoking. I also drive it responsibly, rev-matching every downshift.
Pros:
It's very clean, inside and out. I bought it from someone that does SEMA builds, and he specializes in bodywork and paint. So this car has ceramic coating on it, and when you wash the car the water just beads up. Wash and wipe is all you need to make the car sparkle! The previous owner also went to great lengths to keep the interior all complete. Besides what's shown in the pictures, all the manuals are kept, which has the dealer service records back in 2001! There're no tears and no rips in the interior, the roadside emergency and first aid kit are still complete. It still has the original rubber floormats and cargo net!
This car has the diverter valve (N249) delete, instead it has a FORGED diverter valve. The factory hoses are replaced with silicone ones, including the PCV system. That's a key weakness of these 1.8T's, and it now has the 034 Motorsports silicone kit. This car holds boost at all gears without issues, and it'll just pour out the power. This car is explosive in the first two gears, and turns into a freight train from third onwards! All the door seals are still good, so there'll be no wind noise at high speeds, just nice and smooth. The radio, CD player, AC, and defroster all work great! It also doesn't leak any oil and coolant. The battery is also good, it can maintain 12-13 volts as you drive around town and on the freeways. 20C in the diagnostic mode and the included volt meter both agree with this output.
Here're the things I've done during my ownership, which I can show pictures and purchase records:
For convenience all the engine covers are removed, along with the parcel shelf. I kept them all, and they're all in good shape. No scratches and cracks in any of them. I also have an extra coolant temperature sensor, fan control unit, thermostat replacement kit w/ an aluminum housing (Although the stock plastic housing is still in great shape), silicone vacuum lines, front axle nut, Suspensia control arm bushing (X88BU5558).
Cons:
I suspect the flywheel is going bad, there's a steering vibration at idle. There's also steering play. I posted about both here. The motor mounts are all installed and aligned correctly with new bolts. The dash screen is pixelated, fuel sending unit isn't working properly, so the fuel gauge isn't trustworthy. I fill up every 280 miles, and it usually takes ~10 gallons. The driver side dome light doesn't work, but both vanity mirror lights and other dome lights work. The window microswitches sometimes work, but both windows come all the way up. The front bumper has chips, there's a scratch on the right front wing. I'll include a can of matching paint with the car.
The two last things I'll do is replacing the thermal switch and washer pump. It's just time to move on from the car, even though it has been fun driving it. I'm very willing to answer questions, just let me know. Thanks!
