After a decade of driving the Audi TT I am saying goodbye to the group (for now).

I have been waiting for an EV roadster, and hoped that Audi would deliver, but my head was turned last year by the Cyberster. I loaned one for three days, and loved it, and will be dipping my toes into the world of the EV with the Cyberster GT. My first roadster was an MGF and never imagined I would return to MG after their sale to SAIC Motor, but they have done a very nice job with the Cyberster.

I will miss the roar of the 5-cylinder engine in the TT RS, I have loved every minute of owning a TT.

That you to the group for the help and advice over the years and maybe see you again in the future when the TT EV comes to fruition 😊

not a small change, and a totally different driving experience I guess!
curious how you will find Cyberster after you have used it enough to understand the pros and cons of this transition..
did you buy the single or the dual motor?
of course coming from TT-RS, that top speed limited to 121 is a bit worrying.. :p
good luck and keep us updated

Congratulations on making the move to EV, I hope you have it on a salary sacrifice scheme to help protect you from depreciation.

These really are a beautiful design externally and I love the scissor doors.

I looked at putting one on salary sacrifice and had the 4 wheel drive for a weekend. Luckily i was able to drive it on some of my favourite roads and came away with the following thoughts,

Outer dash screens are hidden by the steering wheel most of the time unless you keep moving your head to see them.
The seats are totally unsupportive and the side bolsters just don’t hold you in place
I felt like the car was floating with very little communicative feedback
The car scuttled a lot on Scottish A roads
The Audio system was Ok but nothing special (Then again the B&O in the TTRS was not that special either)
If i lived in an area where my main use was Motorways and town driving. Even with the above comments i would still give one serious consideration.

I really hope you love yours and look forward to your thoughts once you have enjoyed the car for a few months.

I ordered the GT (dual motor) today in Dynamic Red and due to arrive in 2 weeks. I usually buy my cars but have opted for PCP due to the uncertainty around depreciation with EVs.

It is going to be a big change from my TT RS, and this has been the only EV to date that tempted me. I gave the car a good road test when I had it on loan for three days and was great fun. Not perfect and agree with some of the comments from @Denso, but no deal breakers for me.

I will try and remember to give an update in a few months time and if I don't give me a prod! Thanks for all the messages.

It is the only EV that has tempted me to even consider owning one. Sadly I found that I sat too high and struggled to feel completely comfortable. Also, I would need it to be a long distance cruiser and I'm too scared to really try that with EV.

On a current trip through rural France it is hard enough to find 98. This is a problem I've had previously, and then had to splash and dash with some 95!

Maybe an app would indicate potential charge spots. But apps inform me that a fuel station has 98, when often they don't. And they also fail to indicate places that do have it! This is already making me anxious, so I can only imagine the levels of range anxiety stress I would have!

I had similar concerns/anxiety with range etc but I did some research beforehand and there are a lot more chargers than I appreciated and there are apps that will help you navigate, Zapmap being the main one. Not sure how well it works in practice but it gives you information on the type of charger and availability. I imagine in winter the range of the Cyberster will be more like 180 to 200 so our trips to the south coast will have to be planned with a stop or two.

I do not do a lot of mileage so will stick to my current energy tariff and a fill for my car will cost ~£15. EVs also do not need much servicing though I imagine the tyres will need replacing on par with the TT RS given the weight and performance.

Hi @ademanuele
Can’t send you a message as I’m a new member. Perhaps you could respond to me here or in a private message.
Am I right in thinking you used to own a convertible TTRS Roadster, registration KE22 NYC?
If you were the owner, I was thinking of looking at it, and wondered if you could answer some questions for me.
Was it in an accident? Is this why it doesn’t have a rear spoiler?
Any warranty work done on it?
Was it ‘reliable’?
Anything I should look out for if I go to see it?
Sorry if this all sounds a bit silly, I don’t know much about cars, I just really like this one.
Thank you 😊
