Guys, anyone know?

 

Sounds like a voltage problem of some kind but i guess could be a dash pod problem? I would get the battery and charging system tested... Think there is a code on the climate control which will give you battery voltage...

 

Hi, Check battery connections & fuses/links on top of battery for corrosion/poor connections.... Generator....

Check alternator output by using Code 20c on climate control. should be 13.5/14 volts with engine running.

i had my clutch pedal replaced from the common snap fault with the master cylinder replaced, at any point when a mechanic in a garage has done this work could they have affected the alternator? just so I can maybe take it back because the audi manual says it is the alternator

 

Hi, As I said check connections at & on top of battery, & also check the connections at the alternator.
May also be the start of a failing Voltage Regulator.

after i had the cars pedal replaced instead of 153 miles to go on the dash i had a a sort of time displated that looked weird 25:14 or something for example that may have looked like a voltage reading or time left until the car would lose the charge? but i have bought a new battery since and the problem is still their but not as bad, less frequent rev counter dropping

where is the alternator connections, do you have a picture i can look at anywhere and is it possible for that mechanic to have fiddled with it?

 

Hi, Quite possible he removed alternator & cables for better access.
Alternator is Front drivers side of engine, you will have to remove slam panel trim to see it properly.
