Car starts in efficency mode but it's not actually

Has anyone noticed (maybe it's just my tt?) that if you end a drive in efficency mode and then start your next drive it will show up on the dash as in efficency mode but it won't actually be in that mode? I can tell because it won't go into coasting mode at all (when the drive changes to just an "E") however If I go through and reselect effeciency mode it will immediately remember what it's meant to be doing and start coasting.

I can't find any other discussion on this topic but I also find It hard to believe I'm the only one to notice this? So maybe it's just my car? Would love to hear if it affects anyone else too?

It’s just one of the quirks of how Drive Select works albeit you won’t find it in any manual!

Mine resets to "fake" dynamic when I turn off the engine while in S mode dynamic.(I hope you tree hugging hippies are happy now 🤣)
BUT
If I leave it in efficiency mode, it will remain in efficiency mode once I start it again.
Coasting works immediately on mine!

Mine will show up as being in the mode it was left at but won't actually be in that mode, iirc in addition to it not coasting the "E1/2/3" etc shows up as "D1/2/3" as well unless i go and set it again. I wouldn't mind just pressing the *and setting to efficiency but the car seems to take a few seconds until it recognises the input so I always have to wait. Guessing it's still starting up systems or something.

My manual doesn’t do this.

It stays in whatever I put it in (noticeable in dynamic with the sound and steering).

I don’t know if this is a bug or a design as my 2015 S Line did it but my later TTS’s didn’t seem like they did.

The tell tale sign on my early one was that I had to re-select individual to open the exhaust valve which was supposed to be in dynamic.
