:mad:The reason I am a little pissed off - Â

Friday morning, wife pops downstairs off to work and some WHORE MUNCHING BUTT PLUGS had broke in during the night and tried to steal my car keys (went through all the drawers, cupbards, kitchen, coat pockets in the landing, even removed pictures to look behind them)

Moved the sofa across the landing door so even if we had heard them we wouldn't have got in the front room in time.

They left with £1000 DVD player (my pride and joy - probably sold in a pub for £50), £500 DVD/video player (for......er......editing purposes - or thats what I told the cops), my Playstation 2 (and 27 games + controllers + multi-tap etc), £2000 Sony Vaio laptop.

Tried to move the 50" TV and failed - Ha!! ;) ;D

Thankfully they didn't come up stairs, and no one was hurt etc etc etc. Luckily they took the electrical things as a last resort and left others things (signed framed Muhammed Ali picture which hangs in the dining room).

Luckily I always keep my TT keys in our bedroom at night - I HIGHLY RECOMMEND IT!!!!!

BECAREFUL THERE ARE ASSMONKEYS EVERYWHERE.

PS - on a lighter note - my chum has been playing Vice City for 5 weeks now. His aim is to get 100% completed then his character runs around with a "I completed Vice City and all I got was this Lousy T-shirt" T-shirt. He was 98% the way through it and the funniest things about Friday was - his memory card was in my Playstation when it got robbed!! ;D

PPS - he did back it up though (can never be too careful) onto my memory card - which was in Slot 2 at the time. ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

Sorry to here that,
I have had two attempts at home.

I have resorted to security lighting and attaching wind chimes to the doors at night. The second time the idiots even had the nerve to park outside the house.
I heard them the first time and the wind chime scared them off the second.

Doesnt really help when the Government and police announce that no real action will be taken against first time burglers. That is unless you disturb them and they sue you for GBH.

That's a hell a lot of kit to have lying around with no house alarm. I installed one in my place last month. It's totally wireless, took an hour to install, and if it goes off, it rings me on my mobile. I can also activate, disactivate and listen in from my mobile. The price of this technology (and piece of mind)? 280 quid. Now that is cheap - it costs more than that for a years subscription to a monitored system.

So the solution is BreTT to murder them and chop them into little pieces in your bath. They have to be small bits otherwise you wont be able to fit 'em in yer TT Â ;D
I guess if you then managed to mash them down the plug hole & into the sewers, the multitude of rats should then finish the job. Its sad to think this is the only real way of defending your home... :'(

Thanks to all for the concern.

House is alarmed - just wasn't turned on cos we were at home. Will be zoned off now.

They broke the dead bolts and lifted the patio door out of the runners. Have doubled up on dead bolts since.

Did mention to the cops - hypothetically - what would have happened if I heard a noise and went downstarts with my shotgun (unloaded off course) - they said chances that me being arrested and sentenced - even if i did nothing with it but scared them off - were high. :-/

You cannot really moan at the cops in this situation. They are only doing their job. It is the goverment (& I think primarily the joke EU legislation) which gives them more rights than the victims...

Not to mention the liklihood of being sued for causing emotionally distress :'(.

The justice system is truly a joke

Shocked to hear about this Bash, they are getting so daring these b*****ds.

I'm interested in the above system too. Can you post details Grogie_B?

Seeing as a few of you have asked (and no forum-visiting thieves can find out where I live!!), I bought the alarm on the Internet, natch:

I fully recommend it. I bought an extra PIR and a smoke detector, so I also get a call if my house is on fire [smiley=fireman.gif]

There is another one which looks quite good. It's a bit more expensive, but it supports X10, if you are into home automation:
