Hi has anyone created their own aftermarket fuel line? The original part new is pretty expensive and would like to renew mine soon.

I have, bit of a crap photo but exactly as everyone has said, be careful where you buy hose from, eBay can be full of crap, I'd refrain from using fuel hose for vac lines, I've never found any that's lasted properly, I replaced it as these fuel hoses are old now and if I was on track I didn't want to have the car go up in flames, plus the old hose was showing signs of deterioration.

If you buy fuel hose make sure it's R9 rated and from a reputable source .
The R9 rating will ensure that it will withstand the ethanol found in today's unleaded .
I was looking at a piece of unbranded cloth-braided fuel hose the other day that had only been on a car for 12 years , and less than 1000 miles in that time .
The ethanol had caused the rubber to swell so not only was the hose bulging , it also caused it to collapse internally  .
Stick to a known brand from a reputable supplier .

I reused the clips off the old fuel line and made up some new lines using Mocal braided fuel line. Very high quality black nylon braided outer with steel reinforcing and a neoprene inner.

Nice! Is that the exact part that I need? That you used? Also have you relocated the fuel filter!?

Read the thread in my signature (fuel hoses renewal etc) for all your fuel hose needs [smiley=book2.gif] . Anyone remember the old days in the forums when we used to say search before you post etc

Cohline-2192 (googled it in UK shops too), a very soft and supple hose, 7.5x13mm is the correct size, 1 metre is enough for the job.
