Its not silver and its listed as Blue on the MOT site. What colour is it then- Grey ?
I believe your car might be Glacier Blue, so technically that's blue it just doesn't look very "blue" lol. It's more a bluish silver I guess, rather than a blue blue :ROFLMAO:

However I'm not 100% sure on that colour and pictures and monitors can be deceiving. I thought only Mk1s came in Glacier but in different parts of the world things may vary. You need to find the colour code to determine what the actual colour is--it'll be printed on the PR code sticker for the vehicle. From that code you can get the colour name.

Thanks for that. I'll look up code on car this weekend but believe its the colour you describe. Never seen this on a Mk1 before.
If you do a google search for "Audi Glacier Blue" and hit the images tab/button, most of the pictures you'll find are...Mk1 TTs ;)

Here’s mine. Deep Sea Blue Pearl. Lovely colour but needs to be kept clean otherwise it just looks flat.
I think this goes for most darker-coloured pearl coat paints. I once had a Lava Grey car before and wow did it look fantastic when...
1. It was nice and clean.
2. It was a bright sunny day.

Otherwise it just looked like a dirty black car :ROFLMAO: I got 'suckered' into buying it because I wanted a blue one but was too late in the production year to get one. I actually placed a deposit on a red car that the dealer I was at needed to make a dealer-trade for (was at another dealer) and a day later it turned out that one was sold already. So I went in to collect my deposit thinking I'd wait another year and they had a Lava Grey car in the showroom--obviously all detailed and clean and in bright lighting. Looked so awesome! So I said sure I'll take the Lava Grey instead. Little did I know it didn't look nearly as good when not in those two above conditions LOL. It was actually the most popular colour for the car (A3) in Can/US so I wonder how many people got suckered by the "showroom look" of it :p It wasn't terrible, but I'm more a bright colours kind of guy.

Sort of funny as this colour is not common in NZ which are mostly Jap imports. I really like the colour as it has a decent meattlic finish on my Mk2. Most of the Mk1's are just a single flat colour without any of those sparkly's.

I used to worry about posting pics with my plate, but thinking about it logically, if there was anything that can be done with it that would be considered unscrupulous, people would be driving around with them covered up too 🤔

I think the most you could do with a plate number is check MOT history without owners permission…..

Yer, maybe it’s one of those digital myths. Mine came with a private plate. I don’t want to be pestered with people joining the forum just to offer me thousands of pounds for it.

Wouldn’t mind if someone offered me thousands for my private plate as it only cost me £250 plus transfer fees - just my initials SGJ…..

My blue again, this time with her “hat on” 😁

Despite all the legislation about how a number plate should be laid out with fines for a cm out here or there we still seem to ignore it. Every interesting private plate I’ve seen breaks the law.
I suspect even the cops are ok about it simply because it helps them simply because its memorable?
Even bikers that prefer no rear plate at all because it interferes with the amount of rubber on their rear tyre than can be admired get away with tiny plates unless they do a wheelie outside the police station.

Looks like my MK2 is paint code LY7E which is not Glacier Blue but;
Condor Grey Metallic

Still looks blue to me all the same. Maybe I should start a 'Who's got a Grey TT' thread?

View attachment 496800 Hint of blue but mostly grey. Nice mind but no entry to the Blue club:)
it’s interesting how colour affects the shape of the TT. I mainly dislike white cars but it does seem to work with the Mk2/3. It maybe just because it’s a solid colour like the grey that is so popular currently.

Here's my TTRS in Kingfisher Blue, aka Pelikanblau Met. I believe it could potentially be the only Mk2 TTRS Coupe finished in this colour. I've only ever found one other Kingfisher TTRS and it was a cabriolet. If anyone knows of a way to verify this I'd love to know.

I also own a Mk1 TT 225 in the same colour, so you could say I am somewhat fond of this shade of blue!
