This post will help you gain access to the two main roof drain hoses located directly under the convertible top main bearings. They are located on both the left and right sides, directly behind the seats and inside the center bulkhead that separates the cockpit from the trunk area. Connected to the Drip Trays, they pass through the bulkhead and channel water out through the bottom of the vehicle.

In order to access them, both rear seat panels will have to be removed. The link below shows you how to remove the rear seat panels. Within that post is a brief description of the drain hose locations and where to access to them.

Something to consider if you ever have the fuel pump worked on or replaced, or if you change out the speakers; it's very easy to knock the bottom end of the drain hose out of the drain hole in the bottom panel. Be sure it's fitted correctly to avoid any leaks into the cockpit.

There area two angled features (2) molded into the plastic tray that could contribute to a blocked the tube opening. If you look closely at the photo, you can see how they are molded into the drip tray. I'm guessing they were a design feature to strengthen the tube connector. The downside is they could contribute to blocking the drain opening, especially larger bits like leaves, etc., which may have ended up down in the tray.

One solution to clearing any debris that may have collected is to duct-taping a 1" diameter length of plastic tube onto the end of your standard vacuum cleaner hose so it can fit down into the drip tray.

Here's an Audi TSB on this issue. It might be worth taking this to your Audi Service to see if they'll make good on it. If nothing else, it explains more detail about how to access the top connection of the drain tube -

Checking the drip tray -

If you want to check the drains in the drip trays (located directly under the flaps), use your mobile phone. NOTE - be sure they're dry and not full of water before you put your phone down there!!

Open your top about half way, as this gets the mechanism out of the way. Then start recording a video and place your camera lens-down (upside down) inside the drip tray close to you, but with the lens facing towards the center of the vehicle. Then leave it there for a few seconds, remove and look at the video. You'll be able to see if there's anything blocking the drains. If so, it could cause the trays to catch water and over flow.

Another possible cause of leaks from the drip tray is if the tray has been damaged. In the photo below, Forum member Tina 49er was able to get her smartphone down into the tray and take a video, revealing a rather large hole in the bottom of the drip tray. Any water in here will be heading straight down the hole, not out the drain tube.
