Can't say that I've heard of anyone running a Mallory tune, but back in the day Mallory was a well known / respected manufacturer of 'muscle car' performance parts (mostly ignition systems). So if nothing else they've got some history backing them up.
Tuning method looks similar to tunes sold by companies like Unitronics, IE, etc. That is, a 'generic' tune based on the engine type. Much better than the 'plug-in' modules that simply lie to your ECU, but not as good as a custom tune tweaked for your car.
Pros: You can do it yourself and change it as needed without having to rely on a shop.
Cons: You probably wont get quite the same performance as a custom tune.
