I had my car a few weeks now and installed the MyAudi app onto my phone. I have connected my phone to the car using a pin that was generated when I created my account.

The app (and website) say that I need the Audi Partner to authenticate me as the owner to enable some of the features. I have contacted my local service center to do this but they have told me that I need to buy a "scratch pin" from the parts center to get a code for them to do this. Does this sound right?

I'm thinking that the MyAudi Pin displayed in the app is all that's needed...

No, it's not correct. If the car is brand new it does come with a scratch off panel but you don't need it if you log into your Audi account in the car - it authorises the account automatically.

The new addition of requiring the dealer to confirm you as owner requires the dealer to do something on their system. Speak with Sales. Took my sales guy 5 minutes to do it (Service had no idea what I was talking about). Here's the response I had from Audi when I asked what I needed to do:

For customers who own a vehicle without Audi Connect Safety and Service, they will have to get their preferred Audi Centre to verify them via myAudi Go so that they can see all the features available such as digital service history.

So far it just enables the service record, I can see the PDI inspection on my account.
