Not Daytona Grey

My TTS is in the process of having the rear bumper repaired. I've always thought, or maybe I had forgotten it wasn't, Daytona Grey. Repairer called me to say he didn't think it is and a quick look at my car paperwork reveals "Audi Exclusive Colour". I enquired with Audi UK who have told me it is in fact Jaguar Ammonite Grey. Every day's a school day!

When I bought a Q2 in 2018 the Audi exclusive paint was an extra two grand but if your the sort of person to hang on to your car? I don’t think it’s to bad as we all pay the best part of seven hundred for any colour than white, to chop it in in three or four years later 🤷‍♂️

Makes you wonder why people go for an expensive “exclusive colour” when they buy brand new if it looks nearly identical as something else that is a lot cheaper, each to their own though!

I did see this beautiful teal colour Audi A6 estate (I think it was) yesterday so whatever they selected they chose well!

If I could pick a colour TT I’d go for dark green and a brown leather interior (not sure if that combination exists but I’d like to see it).
I love the TTS in orange too.

I struggle to think why you would spend nearly ÂŁ4k on a non VAG paint when so similar to Daytona. Side by side there is little difference, Daytona is slightly darker with less fleck. Perhaps a crafty upsell ? Say the lady who originally owned this car went in to Audi Shrewsbury and the salesman said "wow i love the colour of the Jaguar you've got out there, its the nicest grey i've ever seen. I can do your Audi in that colour if you like?" and she said "great" and never questioned the cost. Who knows !
