Just thought I'd write a quick post after installing my induction kit to my facelift EA888 engined mk2. Ramair don't do a kit for this type of engine (CESA code) so I decided to order the Golf mk6 kit, same engine and airbox layout so I took a punt at £139.99 and bought the JSK-123-RD kit. It's also available in black or blue, just changes the RD in the kit code.
Anyway, kit quality is excellent as I'd expect. Since my 1st mk1 TT I've used ramair as the kits are very good and easy enough to install for a novice.
Once I'd removed all the standard airbox and intake, I just used the small 80mm fitting (bottom of photo 2) in between the standard airbox and the pipe to turbo as this gave me a firm fitting for the silicone. The rest of the kit fitted nicely, apart from the base plate of the housing that needed to have the rear piece bent 90 degrees to sit flat to where the mount points are (photo 1 just behind the left hand rubber mount hole) Other than that it fitted perfectly. Sounds amazing and took me about 30 mins to fit. Typical ramair filter gives a nice turbo spool up sound and flutter/dump on throttle let off.
Thought I'd post this as I had quite a bit of trouble finding a kit that fits, and ramair said they were developing one for it but I didn't want to wait any longer. The golf mk6 is the same engine etc, just a slight difference in the airbox mounting.
Just have to clean the engine bay now as the shiny new parts highlight the distinct lack of engine cleaning!
