I used some nylon packers to keep my panel gaps inline as otherwise it may move a fraction. Also as far as warning lights for the wing go I just coded it out using OBDeleven and plugged the wiring from car into the plug on the wing which seems to be just a link wire.
I get no faults on the dash but the button in center console does illuminate as if wing is still active.

i got mine today also, im not sure if the instructions make it more complicated than it is
I know what you mean I just had a read through the fitting is straight forward but then they talk about taking pins out of plugs and stuff like that.im just going to code it out :)

I don't believe it can just be coded out, I'm sure I remember Barr End on here mentioned it a while ago, that it will still try to deploy at speed even if coded out, causing the warning light to come on

The loop wire part bridges the position switch wires I believe so that this doesn't happen

For those who have fitted it, why not get an RS switch pack for the centre console to get rid of the useless button?

Got it back from the paint shop today,I have just finished bolting and bonding it together. Hopefully it won't rain to much on the weekend so I can fit it. :p

Looking good. Is the black bead around the bottom a rubber seal?

Ah right, I was wondering how it was painted around

Looks really nice! :)

I saw a Roadster recently, all black, where the owner had painted the underside of the OEM spoiler red. Looked kinda cool actually when deployed. Maybe you guys have seen it around as it's a UK Roadster. Evidently there's some history on this sort of thing -

Mega Transformation

Dauntless-01.JPG

Fun Fact - The red dive brakes were "invented" by one of the BT-1 squadrons (VB-5?) as a means to signal the formation to begin the dive together - too many aircraft were missing the signal when the dive brakes were just aluminum lacquer. The squadron added the paint, THEN asked permission from BuAer. BuAer argued for a bit ("But wouldn't yellow be better?") finally approving the red color in time for SBD production.

Thanks really pleased with how it came out and the colour choice.should go well with the gloss black maxton design bits I have put on already. And the black rubber seal is stuck down with the Audi bonding stuff I got which they say to use.

I never liked the fixed wing myself but good you got the genuine/OE Audi one as the aftermarkets can have poor fit and quality.

Must have cost a pretty penny for the spoiler and the paint I can imagine!

No pics of the finished product though? :p

Mine are also in the shop being painted right now. What a fun occurence so many of us adding it roughly at the same time. :p I'm painting them misano red as my car and I'm thinking about wrapping the top part black. Can you post pictures of your car when it's mounted?

It's actually mentioned in the provided manual on how to code it out so that there is no warning light.

I got mine from my local Audi dealer, the part nr. is 8J0071645 9AX, you'll have to buy accessory like glue etc. seperately, e.g. 000071781A. Should fit for all TT mk2 models. Alternatively, there's this german online shop which offers it for a much better price than Audi: https://shop.ahw-shop.de/original-audi- ... ler?c=5262

Nice spoiler althought it looks different to the TTRS one.
Indeed it is. I couldn't quite put my finger on it at first either but the RS spoiler has two "twin" spars/supports on each side which are each a near-triangle/truss design. This one OTOH has three single supports, left, centre, and right. It nets a different look in the end, at least from the rear. Though the difference is subtle, once you see it, you can't unsee it lol.

I didn't even know this style of wing existed from Audi!

Anyway, I'm guessing why the warning light did not go on was because you might have to go over 120km/h and have it actually try to deploy the spoiler (or try to manually actuate it) for it to then detect the issue and then turn on the light.
