Ok so been folloing the guid for removing the stater motor (Electrical System - RG 27 90 93 94 96 97 - A005TT01320) and got to this part

Unplug connector -4- by sliding locking element to rear and
pressing down release catch.

Well as you can probably see from my pic I've broke the sliding lock lol. I don't get what it's referring to as "pressing down release catch". What release catch?

Ok so I sorted it. Looked on new motor to see where the retainer clip would latch on to, slide my flat blade under and it just lifted up. New motor now in.

Question now is where do I get a new locking element? (pink/red plastic in pic)
Yeah you did the needed thing after it broke--you can still pry up the clipping part afterward. Part# for the connector will be actually on the connector itself--might need a magnifying glass or the ol' spectacles on to see it lol. But Chaos' p/n is probably the right one--at least looks right from the side we can see. Check yours to see if matches and then just get a cheap one of AliExpress, etc. You'll have to de-pin and repin of course so hopefully you have set of cheap de-pin tools otherwise get those of AliExp too, he.

OR you can actually just leave it like that if it still clicks in afterwards. The red/push-in lock is just there to make double-sure it doesn't release but now with no release even on the thing...if it clicks/latches how likely is it, it's going to release? You yourself will need to screwdriver it out again, so how would it come off on it's own? That's the thought anyway--up to you but IMO you really only need to replace it if the lock tab is also broken which does happen too but doesn't sound like is the case here.
