Hi Guys.

So i took my car down to see Russell Automotive today. I am now running a Revo map. :D Car feels so much better, pulls hard in every gear, is like a rocket off the lights

I must admit when i first got in the car i was thinking i had been fleeced and there was no mapping had been done. After about 10 miles the car suddenly started to feel different and boosting better and faster than before.

Would the car have been adjusting itself / learning and took a little time to work?

Must admit mate, every remap that I`ve had done I`ve noticed within the first few yards !

Having said that though, they do get noticeably better again as you pile on the miles (up to a certain point, of course)

I must be the saddest person here who has had a remap. I very rarely go over 4,000rpm so never felt the extra power (as yet)! I have only noticed once when cruising down the M62 and accelerating from 80mph onwards which was quite nice.
After watching the Wheeler Dealer program on TV, I'm scared stiff with whacking it between 1st & 2nd gear in case that riveted fork/selector snaps off.

Jesus!...Pull yourself together and man-up. :x
Put your foot down and give it some welly! YOLO. :p
Once you do, you'll never go back to 'Driving Miss Daisy'
:D

Yeah I know, but at the minute I never get chance to get the car fully warmed up. I am only using it for the 10 round trip to work and the 1/2 mile drive into town on a weekend shopping.

Bit of advice.
Grab a spare coil pack and shove it in the glove box with the tools to change one. :p

I've heard a few bad reviews on revo? Can anyone here attest to that or contrary? At the moment they seem to not only be the cheapest route, but they also supply very good power and tq compared to some of the other ones out there per stage.

I mean stage 2 for only $336??? I'm going to go next paycheck

Can be quite an aggressive map IMHO and they're known for eating clutch plates..

Stage 2 map just means stage 2 state of tune is required so you would need, induction kit, sports cat or decat, full exhaust system, TIP and possibly injectors. So its not really $336 :p

FMIC would also be sort of needed, just get a stage 1 if you have only induction mods.

ALL remaps can eat the clutch if its not in tip top condition, if you have an old clutch or on the original clutch you have every chance of it slipping after a map.

If you're really scared of that, the all-metal shift forks are only $120 each from ECS. 1/2 and 3/4 are available. 5/6 retains that silly rivet though...

Hmm thanks for the tip! I'm probably going to go the revo route and I heard they give you software to fine tune it a little and maybe take it back a few notches. I'll keep that in mind though!

I got the revo map done but on a 180TT.When comparing REVO and APR the hp and tq were close so I'm not sure why people say the REVO is aggressive.
Doesn't matter how close the figures are as in terms of bhp/torque......

It's where it hits those figures across the rev range.

Some maps hit there peaks too early in rev range hence why it's called "Aggressive"

Foxie... give it some welly man, put the peddle to the metal and enjoy.. my wife drives faster than you by the sounds of things..
Ha ha, I jest really but honestly not had the right chance to boot it properly as yet. I thought I was getting a speeding ticket within 15 minutes of buying the car but looks like I escaped that.... :p
On the way to work this morning I was surprised it appeared to sound quite revvy at (shhhh....) 90+mph but then I realised I was still in fourth and not 6th gear. I very rarely get the car up to running temp at this moment in time. Roll on Spring!
