Service Manual for Mk1 TT

Hi All,

I'm very green in terms of owning my TT (having only had it two months!) so apologies if this question has been covered else where.

I have seen on Amazon and the tt shop that a service manual is available for the Mk1 - but it doesn't seem to include my engine code! (BAM) is this still a worthy purchase - or does a different manual exist? sounds like a blonde kinda question but I'd like to be sure before I buy.

Thanks in advance

I believe the TT Shop sell the Bentley Workshop manual. This is the US version but is much the same as the Europe version ElsaWin which is only officially available to dealers. The US engine codes are different: BEA = BAM. The Bentley manual covers all the variants it's just that the code needs interpreting. There are very few discrepancies between Europe and US as theey are both mainly illustrated as LHD. The US version does not include the electronic alarm siren as this was a Europe fitted feature. Elsa Win is sometimes available on eBay but the interface is not as good as Bentley. If I were to choose I'd go for Bentley.

Beware of what's offered on eBay - some so called manuals are complete rubbish.

I have the Bently, all the info I have needed has so far been covered, mine is also a BAM engine.
I bought it new last year for ÂŁ65.
It is far better than any Haynes manual that I have used, but it is expensive. Can you justify the cost, I mean are you going to be doing your own maintenance? this site is full of info you know

PS keep an eye on the for sale section, they crop up every now and then.
