TDI Owners – What Mods Have You Done?

I know most people will probably say I should’ve gone for a TFSI, but honestly buying my TT TDI was a bit of a spur-of-the-moment thing and I’m happy with it. (2.0L TDI Quattro ‘Special Edition’)

Just curious what other TDI owners have done mod-wise.

Thinking along the lines of a Stage 1 remap, exhaust, induction kit, maybe spacers and a refurb on the alloys.

Would be good to hear what’s worked for you, what hasn’t, and whether the common mods actually make the diesel feel a bit more special. I am the typical “love the sound of an induction pipe” type driver. Pics and vid welcome too!

Thanks everyone!

Have a look at my build thread for the mods I've done to my TDI.
In short:
Decat/dpf delete
Egr delete
Remap (coded out swirl flaps as well)
Short shift
Turbo noise reduction pipe derestricted

That's the current list......soon to be increased ;) (hopefully lol)

You can through the emmissions without the DPF?
My thought too.

Both a decat and / or a DPF delete will fail MOT if a visual inspection is performed and most likely will fail an inspection if a tailpipe output is performed since it is illegal to modify any device that affects emissions.

It's also a liability if you ever plan on selling the vehicle (expensive to retrofit missing components).

You 'might' be able to get away with it depending on where you live and the inspection criteria but emissions testing is likely to become more demanding in the future so passing MOT today is no guarantee you'll pass next year.

Personally I can't recommend either but to each their own...
