Hi guys
I have a question, I’ve had my TT mk1 bam cabriolet 11 years now, I’ve spent over 35k on her in the last 5 years alone, mostly under the hood, a paint job a few years ago.
My question is it worth replacing the wastegate actuator, if so has anyone done it? Did you notice a difference? I get that the question is oxymoronic as the actuator has a important role to protect the turbo which is a vital element in a turbocharged car.
The last time I saw mine it had basically oxidised and was made out of rust, I’ve never changed it and bearing in mind my car just passed her 20 years old anniversary/birthday
Shall I change it stat? If yes how hard is the job? Better from the bottom or from the top? For those who have attempted the job and evidently know more about this stuff than a novice like me...🙈
I ask this question because I read about actuators earlier, my car is stage 1 remapped and I’m worried the rust I currently have as an actuator isn’t up to the job anymore.
I would go as far as to say since the car rolled of the line the actuator has never been changed...
Any advice would be appreciated.
Thanks guys 😊
