The point is he hasn’t got the option codes.
All he has is the VIN number.

How can a VIN decoder provide the missing options? It just doesn’t contain that level of detail.

Unless of course one of the “decoders” was somehow also tied into a (presumably leaked) database of the options at some point?

BTW the decoder linked to is working for me, at least in so far as a decoder is able to gather information from the VIN alone.

IMO you’re better off asking your local friendly Audi dealer , if you have the donor car VIN number.
When I enquired at my local dealer shortly after buying my TT they gave me a printout over 6 pages long covering colour as well as every PR code that my car has, most of which aren’t even listed on the spare wheel well/service book sticker.

As above, ask someone at any VW/Audi - any of their parts people should be able to print your build spec from ETKA, this includes every PR number for the VIN, not just the ones printed on the boot sticker.

I got my spec from "glavanesti" on eBay for £3, but you can also grab this same file from Audi Erwin for 1 hour's access (7 euros).

3 options for you... just depends on how quickly you need the spec 👍

Glad you found what you needed. VIN decoders are great for a quick initial check, but they can only tell you so much. If you are serious about buying a Pre-owned, it is always worth getting a pre-purchase inspection done by a mechanic. They can uncover any hidden problems that the VIN report might miss. The official VinDecoder website is an excellent resource for getting the complete factory build sheet.
