Hi there,

My washer pump is not working, I beleive this pump shares the same fuse with the wipers which are working. Is this correct and do I therfore need a new washer pump.

If so how much, where should I get one from and where is it in the engine bay ?

Thanks for any suggestions

Are the nozzles blocked or is it really the pump?

The fine spray nozzles block really easily if you don't use Audi's own washer fluid.

(of course, blockage can lead to subsequent pump failure)
What is the difference between Audis own washer fluid and any other you buy elsewhere, making the nozzles not block that easily? :?

Audi's own stuff has some extra dilutant in it which prevents it from forming crystals. Apparently.

Audi's stuff also doesn't work. Distilled water would clean the windshield better than the Audi liquid.

If your bottle has a bad egg smell it's Hydrogen Sulfide and is the result of oxygen deficient anerobic baterial action which caused your water to turn into the consistency of wallpaper paste. Sometimes this can be promoted by mixing different fluids.

I have the same problem. :(

There is a problem with these pumps, which are situated on the tank which is behind the wheel liner beneath where you fill the tank. I have read somewhere what you need to do, it might not need a new pump. There are two pumps by the way, the other one is for the headlamp washers.

Sorry this post is brief, but I am late for a meeting. If I don't see a reply which helps you more I'll find the link to the instructions, although it did look straight forward. If I remember, it was a case of cleaning connections and sealing with silicone. :)
