You can always use the Forge splt-r in hybrid mode where it recirculates air and dumps as well. However as you may suspect, running it in such a mode will reduce throttle response because air that would otherwise be used is actually dumped. You get the pshhht sound though. PM me if you have any questions because I have changed 3 DVs so far and I have toyed around with them running them in different modes and settings. Very quickly:
If you run a remapped car and want the best possible performance choose the Forge 007p with the yellow spring. If you car is stock, green spring.
