Hi, A scorpion & an air filter will have very little effect on performance, it may sound faster & rev abit freer but that's about it. A stage 1 remap is the best value for money performance increase.
Are you using 98+ Ron fuel which the engine is designed to use?

hi Hoggy. thanks. I always use premium unleaded. Am looking forward to my twin pipe back box arrival, fitting and then a re map!

Am always looking at TT's online but think I will stick with a 180 with a re map rather than a new to me motor, I wish I had gone down the 225 route, with a remap! kevin

 

isn't "premium unleaded" still 95RON (just with additives) or is that also the same as "super unleaded" 97RON, the only other fuels are V-Power 99RON and Momentum 99RON

I sadly rarely can get more than 97 super unleaded as the nearest shell station in a motorway services 12 miles away and 146 per litre or Tescos 12 miles away in a town I hardly to go, or 19 miles away near where I work but a mission to get to.

Yep, 'premium' is just bog standard unleaded. Needs to be Super or V power or Momentum

Hi Kevin, As the others have said use Super unleaded, Shell V power Nitro/Tesco momentum, especially before & after you get a remap
I prefer Shell V Power Nitro even though it's 30 mile round trip away.

When I purchased my 180 I was appalled at the state of the underside components being covered in rust and set about a complete overhaul with a view to building longevity into it and wasn't really bothered about extra performance

One of the components I wanted to upgrade to full stainless steel was the exhaust system, after much searching and visits to different companies with wildly varying quotes I bit the bullet and decided to purchase the full Scorpion system which included the high flow cat and fit it myself

By this point I had rebuilt all the suspension, subframes etc

So after fitting the exhaust I thought it would be nice to make use of the performance it would offer

I ended up with a Viezu Technologies remap and it really has made a huge difference to performance
