I currently have a non res Scorpion on my V6.
For me it is too loud, especially cruising on the motorway and I have a resonated centre section to fit as soon as I can get it up on a garage ramp.

I'm also planning on making the exhaust flap switchable, so I can set it closed or open or auto.

Supersprint is another off-the-shelf option for the V6, but double the price.

 

Hi David, I have the resonated Scorpion and my valve is switchable... it's a good thing because even the resonated has a bit of drone at motorway speed when the valve is open.

It seems that most V6 owners have their vacuum lined plugged ( flapper valve mod ) but the real flapper valve mod is to be able to control it manually but many don't know about it. I think the Supersprint doesn't have the valve but it probably doesn't make any difference to most since they have the vacuum line plugged.

 

Hi chaz 46. I don't know what your budget is but I have the 3.2 V6 also and I absolutely love the sound and looks of the Borla exhaust systems. I think they might be American .

Thanks for the responses folks, the TT is mainly a weekend toy but I’m dont want something too loud for longer journeys. I reckon it will be a resonated version then.

I have also contacted a custom exhaust supplier to see what they can provide. Do sports cats exist for the 3.2 which meet all UK requirements?

 

Yes SportsCats are available for the V6.
Lucifer (Michael Underhill) makes them.
They are listed for the Mk4 R32, but are the same as the Mk1 TT V6.
He is on several TT & 3.2V6 Facebook groups as well as the Mk4 R32 forums, ie:

Lucifer`s custom made MK4 res and none res cat back...

I have a resonated Supersprint on my 3.2, and love it. It has a great sound, but is not too loud and no drone. The quality is top notch too. They are expensive, but I think worth it. Grabbed mine on a sale.

Thanks for the response. I like the look supersprint product but it’s a bit too steep for my budget…

I’m deliberating between a custom job from a local garage (although unsure how the quality will be) and a scorpion resonated.

Scorpion have some deals on just now so I may lean that way!

Yes, Mk4 Golf R32 Cats fit the Mk1 TT V6.
