Hi,

As I got my TT recently I am thinking of taking it to the Audi nearby which offer a free health check, and I thought maybe I should ask people on here their thoughts on this idea?

And if anyone has had one done Is the check thorough? I am hoping it will point me to areas that will need work next (potentially before next MOT in April) is this correct thinking?

Cheers,
Apple

Nothing lost and you may qualify for the coil pack recall although you can phone them up and they should be able to tell you.

Refuse the free wash (valet?) that they offer as it will probably come back a different car for all the wrong reasons.

Had mine done with the coilpack recall last year.

Health check only came back with tires, quite pleasant to hear the fitter commenting that the car was in good shape 8)

Complimentary wash and valet, bacon roll and a cuppa tea. Not bad a the grand total of ÂŁ0.00

Had mine done with the coil pack recall too at Preston Audi. I was expecting a long list, but they only came back with one tyre near the legal limit. Didn't want them anywhere near my car with a sponge so declined the complimentary wash, but enjoyed the free coffee and biscuits etc while I waited. :D

Had mine done at Audi Sunderland.
Came back with a list of repairs as long as my arm and a bill of over ÂŁ4k! I think this could be a money making scheme by Audi! I took her to a local indie and all that needed replacing was a rear spring.

Hi, just booked in for a free health check with Audi, No problems via Audi web site.... for Aug17 a long time ago I think Audi dealer told me they don't give a free health check for cars over 10 maybe it was 12 years old. So surprised they let me in..lol as 16.5 years old now. See what wrong with TT , then go cheaper to fix else where, which was exactly the reason they told me not available for my car say about 5 years ago. Anyway they know it's age and still accepted my car for a free health check only, while I wait with free coffee and cake .....hoping with maybe a free wash as it needs it lol 8) all audi dealers may get hundreds of old TTs in their garages now who will just walk away afterwards .... be carefull what they wish for lol

It's nearly time, judgement day .... for my TT free Audi dealer health check.
Date : Friday 11th Aug 2017 pm They are gonna find a ticking time [smiley=bomb.gif] possibly , could be a long list of to do items... that will not be done by the stealers lol . At 2001 reg could be one of the oldest cars that they have seen in a long time

Check In the car went in yesterday and will be picking it up tonight due to steering problem,

I got the results and basically I got a few advisories:
1) It has run flat tyre's which it shouldn't have however they are fine (loads of tread).
2) Bulb on number plate light has blown possibly due to water getting in the system.
3) Brake pads worn to 70% so will need changing soon.
4) Did the recall for the ignition coils (or something)

One known problem with the steering has come back as a recent repair may not have been as well done as hoped.

So I am very glad with this result as I kinda bought this car out of the unknown and as its old i didn't know what condition it was in.

Cheers,

Had a health check yesterday and was quite happy with the result!

1.8t 225 BAM 2002

1.Engine cover missing (I forgot to put it back on)
2.O/S/f anti roll bar bush excessive play
3.O/S/F cv boot leaking slightly
4. Rubber exhaust mount missing front cats

So not bad for 15 years old my 2009 Audi A3 black edition had more on it health check haha!

I want to change the arb bushes to powerflex ones, but had read you have to use clips to hold them on or something can anyone tell me more about this? Also what size it is that I need as they have 3 17mm 19mm and 20mm which is it I need?

Also when I try to find a cv boot it comes up with many options, which is it that I should be getting?

And is the rubber mount on the cat just the as most?

Thanks for any help

Re:coil packs , if your TT still have the original type old coil packs installed, Audi may replace them with a new type as under a product inhancemen scheme. You can ring an Audi stealers quote your reg no and they may tell you if your car will still qualify or not. 8) see coil pack problems in this web site for more info. Hope this helps :)

Follow up to my previous posts regarding My Audi free health check last week.....

Well it all when very well as it goes.... Audi said my TT was in overall great mech. condition for its age at 16.5 years young, on their list of to do items where just items I already knew about...as it goes.

1. Needs a new soft top with glass ... leave 4 now defo. ÂŁs mega
2. Exhaust bracket missing ... no problem works
3. small split in vacuum hose.... tapped up ok 4 now
4. Headlight bulb .... done now ok
5.a/c needs a regas..... works cold enough lol do soon
6.finaly needs a wash lol ....done by Audi yes.

I must say My local Audi did a great job of washing the car, in and out. My soft top roof was so so bad and grimy/dirty etc, and now it's almost back to its best ... unbelievable the difference ...we'll done Audi. I did not think the roof would even by touched by them, well done indeed. Oh yes plus great coffee , cheers....was well worth the trip 4 once

Had my free check the other day, very pleased, they did the ignition coils and a software upgrade/remap all for free! :D nice coffee whilst waiting and nice receptionist! :D

All they said was will need some new front pads in the future (i guessed that) :D

Mini-valet was OK!

You can't complain for free! :D

Hi All,

I recently had my TT in with Audi, after having the dashboard repaired I managed to fit in back, but no matter how many times I tried I couldn't fit the large plastic compartment under the steering wheel back.
Took it to Audi they charged me ÂŁ105 to fit it  They did replace the coils for free though :)
Health check came back with a 4 grand bill
