Dead battery, how to access car?

Hi

Can anybody offer any advice. My 05 plate TT has been on my dad's drive for the last 2 months and the battery has died. I tried opening the drivers door with the key but it remains locked. How do I access the bonnet to trickle charge the battery so I can get power to use the electronic unlock on my keyfob? I'm totally at a loss as how to access any part of the car without battery power as the doors simply won't open mechanically as far as I can tell?

Any advice would be much appreciated, thank you

Try the mk1 forum. Even though the cats are similar, that's still the correct place for an 05 TT.

Door should unlock mechanically though, do you feel anything move when turning the key?

Hear the mechanism sound like it's unlocking but it is still locked. Passenger door remains locked too. If I manually lock the door the handle movement is restricted, so I assume there is an electronic lock too?

i had a golf and locks stopped working because they where never opened with a key,

squirt a load of WD40 in and giggle gently

Just an FYI - after you get your battery charged, you may see a few warning light on your dash and a TPMS warning in the DIS. Don't panic. They'll all go off by themselves after you've driven around for a few minutes.
