New footwell Lights - OK so I decided to fit lights in the footwell of my 2011 TT Coupe Special Black Edition S-line. I bought the wiring and red light fittings from Rocket Wires - https://rocketwires.co.uk/online-shop/ols/products/footwell-lighting
Worked with the instructions on how to fit, removing the drivers side dash and passenger side glove box etc to fit the wiring and light fittings. All good and coded in with my OBDEleven Pro https://www.amazon.co.uk/OBDeleven-...VQmd2lkZ2V0TmFtZT1zcF9hdGYmYWN0aW9uPWNsaWNrUmVkaXJlY3QmZG9Ob3RMb2dDbGljaz10cnVl - lights worked properly but I was disappointed with the brightness. I had gone for the tungsten 5W bulbs because I didn't want them to be wildly bright. Shouldn't have worried but you just don't know until you fit them how bright they'll be.
As a professional photographer myself I know you can make lights appear brighter in a photograph than they actually are. So I bought some LED fittings in the hope that they would be brighter. These are the ones I went for - https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/182736590645 These were probably 3-4 times brighter than the tungsten bulbs in the first fit. Really pleased with the results. The lights are bright red when you open the car, and what I really like is that once in the car, when you turn the ignition key they dim down to a subtle glow and stay at that level while driving, so long as you have the headlights on. The footwell lights come back on full when you turn the engine off.
There is a bit of work involved in making the LED bulbs fit the aperture on your dash but only requires filing down a couple of mm on the fittings themselves. Or you could enlarge the aperture to make them fit, I chose not to do that. (Worth mentioning that Rocket Wires do sell an LED option that fits (without any adjustment) but I can't say how bright they are).
I'll take some photos soon and update this post, but can highly recommend Rocket Wires for the wiring and Lush-UK -https://www.ebay.co.uk/usr/lush-uk?_trksid=p2047675.l2559 for the LED lights. They really are very good!
